The acrylic is the layer protecting your artwork, thus an essential part and feature to consider when choosing a frame. Especially important is it to protect your art from the harmful UV light. We have equipped our frame with high-quality acrylic from Plexiglas® that filters out more than 98% of damaging UV rays, thereby preventing your artwork from crackling, yellowing and fading.

The word “acrylic” is often misleadingly used to describe other materials than actual acrylic. One material commonly used in frames nowadays and often called “acrylic” is polystyrene. Polystyrene is a cheap and brittle alternative to real acrylic that holds low UV protection. Thereby less suitable for framing art. Also, acrylic is the sustainable choice and our acrylic sheets from Plexiglas® are fully recycable.
